Position Summary

The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) is responsible for driving AmplifiedSpace’s revenue growth and overall commercial performance. This executive leader owns the company’s go-to-market strategy and execution across sales, partnerships, pricing, marketing alignment, and customer success.

The CCO ensures AmplifiedSpace is consistently positioned to win high-value commercial and government contracts, translating market demand into executable growth. As a core member of the executive leadership team, the CCO aligns commercial commitments with engineering capacity, supply chain realities, and capital strategy to scale the business responsibly and aggressively.

This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring someone who can architect growth while actively closing deals in a fast-moving aerospace startup environment.

Flexible On-Site; Broomfield, CO. While we offer the opportunity for remote work, this role requires being on-site as needed to support team collaboration and mission-critical objectives.

Full-time. Competitive executive compensation package including base salary, performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive benefits, and meaningful equity participation.

Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership & Revenue Ownership

  • Own company revenue targets, forecasting, and pipeline performance.
  • Develop and execute commercial strategy across commercial, civil, and defense markets.
  • Lead negotiations and close strategic contracts exceeding $1M+.
  • Architect scalable pricing models, deal structures, and revenue frameworks.
  • Build commercial infrastructure including CRM discipline, reporting cadence, and performance tracking systems.

Market Positioning & Customer Strategy

  • Define competitive positioning and market segmentation strategy.
  • Establish customer success metrics that drive retention, expansion, and long-term growth.
  • Maintain executive-level relationships with strategic customers, partners, and integrators.
  • Translate customer requirements into actionable input for engineering roadmap prioritization and product evolution.

Strategic Alignment & Operational Integration

  • Ensure commercial commitments align with engineering capacity, supply chain lead times, and capital constraints.
  • Identify and plan required personnel, equipment, and supplier scaling to support revenue growth.
  • Collaborate on project planning to ensure commercial milestones are realistic and executable.
  • Pilot and validate new commercial models and revenue streams, focusing resources on what gains traction.

Government & Capital Strategy

  • Maintain and grow relationships with DoD, NASA, and strategic integrators.
  • Drive commercialization pathways for SBIR/STTR awards and Other Transaction Authority (OTA) contracts into production programs.
  • Support investor pipeline development, fundraising diligence, and strategic capital outreach alongside the executive team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, marketing, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in business development, commercial strategy, or sales leadership within aerospace, defense, or deep-tech startup environments.
  • Demonstrated success closing complex technical deals exceeding $1M+.
  • Proven revenue ownership and pipeline management experience.
  • Experience selling complex hardware and/or software systems into aerospace or defense markets.
  • Strong understanding of pricing strategy, financial modeling, and investment principles.
  • Working knowledge of ITAR and EAR regulations and their impact on commercial spacecraft strategy.
  • Experience operating in resource-constrained startup environments with evolving infrastructure.
  • Ability to operate effectively with ambiguity and incomplete information.
  • Strong CRM discipline and data-driven performance management approach.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • S. Citizenship required due to access to controlled technical data and government programs.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of industry experience within aerospace, defense, or deep-tech startups.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or PhD) in business, finance, engineering, or related discipline.
  • Substantial track record of supporting or leading capital rounds (Pre-seed through Series A).
  • Active network across the aerospace value chain including primes, integrators, and government stakeholders.
  • Direct experience with DoD and NASA procurement processes, including SBIR/STTR grants and OTA pathways.
  • Experience scaling commercial infrastructure in early-growth companies transitioning from prototype to production.
  • Proven ability to manage complex supply chains and mitigate risks associated with long-lead aerospace components and hardware volatility.

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the software architecture that enables AmplifiedSpace’s software-configurable power systems. This includes embedded software, firmware, gateware, configuration management, and customer-facing interfaces that allow power hardware to be safely configured, validated, and operated.

This role will work closely with electrical, systems and test engineering to ensure the software ecosystem supports flight delivery, production scaling, and long-term product evolution.

This is not a remote position – must be in, or willing to relocate, to the Boulder/Denver area and work at the office currently located in Broomfield, Colorado on Mondays and as required by the position.

Responsibilities

  • Own software development for key product capabilities that enable software-defined power systems.
  • Design and implement production-quality code with a strong focus on reliability, maintainability, and testability.
  • Develop software tools for configuration, bring-up, and validation of spacecraft power systems.
  • Collaborate with electrical and systems engineers to define interfaces between software and power electronics.
  • Support flight deliveries by ensuring software requirements are met, verified, and documented.
  • Participate in debugging complex system issues spanning software, firmware, and hardware.
  • Help establish and improve internal software development processes (code reviews, CI/CD, release workflows, documentation).
  • Work directly with customer technical teams as needed to support integration and mission success.
  • Pick up new skills as needed.
  • Manage time efficiently.
 

Qualifications (must have these skills to be considered for this position):

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Typically has 5-15 years’ experience with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals: clean code, architecture, debugging, version control, and testing.
  • Experience writing software for systems that interface with hardware (embedded systems, robotics, aerospace, industrial, automotive, or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects end-to-end in an environment with evolving requirements.
  • Ability to be flexible and execute quickly.

Desired Skills (applicant does not need to have these skills to be considered for employment, but they are skills that the company seeks to meet short and long-term goals):

  • Familiarity with spacecraft systems, avionics, or flight software development environments.
  • Experience with Python for scripting, automation, and test tooling.
  • Experience with C/C++ for embedded or performance-critical systems.
  • Familiarity with common communication protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, Ethernet, etc.).
  • Experience designing APIs or configuration interfaces for complex systems.
  • Experience with CI/CD systems and automated test pipelines.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices (especially for aerospace/DoD environments).
  • Experience working with hardware-in-the-loop test systems, lab automation, or instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with requirements tracking and verification processes.
  • Previous experience reviewing firmware/software related to power electronics systems.

We’re looking for a Power Systems Engineer who will be the responsible engineer for developing the hardware for the company’s power systems.

This is not a remote position – must be in, or willing to relocate, to the Boulder/Denver area.

  • Typically has 2-10 years experience with a BSEE or MSEE.
  • Must be rooted in your understanding of basic electronics.
  • Must be rooted in your understanding of power electronics.
  • Must be proficient in analog circuit design and layout.
  • Must be proficient in high-speed circuit design and layout.
  • Must be comfortable in an electronics lab environment.
  • Experienced with Altium Designer or similar software.
  • Experienced with LTSpice or similar software.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and execute quickly.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with common firmware and scripting languages (C, asm, verilog, Python, tcl).
  • Familiarity with Gallium Nitride (GaN) and/or Silicon Carbide (SiC) transistors.
  • Familiarity with DFT and DFM initiatives.
  • FPGA design experience. Combinational logic, sequential logic, timing closure, verilog, verification, etc.
  • Real-Time Embedded Systems. Rate-Monotonic Analysis, blocking functions, deterministic operation, etc.
  • High-power (1kW+), High-voltage (100V+) power converter design experience.
  • Designing for extreme temperature and radiation environments.
